Description
This Primary Opalescence Suspension is a ready-to-use turbidity standard presented in high-quality, tamper-evident bottles for use in calibrating turbidimeters and nephelometers and for controlling the reproducibility of their measurements.
This product is a formazin suspension prepared with equal parts hexamethylenetetramine solution and hydrazine sulphate solution. Aqueous formazine solutions feature small, uniform colloidal particles that scatter light in all directions, causing opalescence.
- Manufactured according to European Pharmocopoeia Chapter 2(2.2.1) guidelines with a Balance Certificate of Calibration issued in accordance with ISO 17025
- Prepared gravimetrically on a weight/weight basis using OIML traceable weights
- Concentration verified using a high-performance spectrophotometer calibrated using ISO Guide 34 accredited spectrophotometric standards
- The Primary Opalescence Suspension diluted in precise ratios to form the EP Reference Opalescence Suspensions (I, II, III, IV)
