Praseodymium(III) nitrate hydrate is used in fluorescent display tubes and phosphors. It is also used in the ultrasonic synthesis of phase-pure praseodymium molybdate. It plays a major role in the solvothermal process for formation of doped lanthanide oxysulfide.
