Macherey-Nagel™ Potassium Iodide Starch Qualitative Test Paper
Allows the quick and easy detection of strong oxidizers such as nitrite and free chlorine. Macherey-Nagel™ Potassium Iodide Starch Qualitative Test Paper is also used to control diazotization reactions. Potassium iodide starch paper is available in two formats: 5m reel or 70 x 20mm test strips.
Brand: Macherey-Nagel™ 90754
Description
Nitrite or free chlorine oxidize potassium iodide to form elemental iodine. The iodine reacts with starch to a blue-violet complex. To detect gaseous oxidizers, the paper is moistened with distilled water and then exposed to the gas in question. MN offers two different versions of potassium iodide starch paper:
- 816 N Test Paper Reel (5m x 7mm): Choose the required test paper length simply by tearing the paper; especially suited to being dipped into solutions
- 616 T Test Paper Strips (2 x 7cm): Handy individual papers are especially convenient for spot-tests; 200 strips per tube
