Chelating agent used in many enzyme buffers and as an enzyme inactivator at high concentrations.

Stock Solution (0.5M):

  • 186.1 gm EDTA
  • H2O to 800 ml
  • Titrate with approximately 20 gm of NaOH pellets to pH 8.0.
  • Bring solution to 1 liter with water and sterilize by autoclaving.
